Yesterday, we celebrated a very special milestone: Arie Otterspeer has been with Kobout for 40 years! That’s not just a number — it’s four decades of dedication, calm leadership, and impressive craftsmanship.
Arie started his journey back when Kobout was still based in Krimpen. His job interview? With no fewer than five employees at once! But he quickly proved himself to be a steady and reliable force.
He began in the packaging department, later took the lead in the KanBan and assembly departments, and even managed Kobout’s entire logistics on an interim basis. Today, as a Senior Logistics Employee, he continues to be a highly valued part of our team.
Arie is the definition of unshakable — nothing fazes him. No matter how hectic things get, he remains calm and keeps everything running smoothly. A legendary story: once, Arie and his team worked through the night to prepare a massive order for a key client. Everything was ready by 07:00... but the truck never showed up. 😅
And here's something special: Arie and his wife Betsie form a true Kobout power couple. She recently celebrated 25 years with us — together they represent 65 years of experience!
We marked the occasion with a wonderful lunch at restaurant Zomerlust, enjoying a stunning view over the river and the city of Dordrecht.
